OK…my thoughts on the shooting in Manhattan, in the area round the Empire State Building.

1) Mayor Bloomie HATESHATESHATES guns, and blames the other 49 other states (and the knuckledragging Upstate New Yorkers) for the *illegal guns* that are a problem in his salt-free / fat-free / sugar-free Utopian Paradise.

2) Mayor Bloomie insists that ONLY THE TRAINED PROFESSIONALS THAT MAKE UP THE NY POLICE FORCE should be the ones with da’ gunz.

3) Disgruntled employee accosts former employer, pops the guy with a .45 cal slug in the head. One shot / one kill.

4) NY City PoPo track the perp across five or so city blocks.

5) TWO of the PoPo pull their duty weapons (NYC PoPo are allowed to carry more than the civilian limit of 10 rounds…they were each carrying 15 in the magazine) and between the two of them have 30 rounds in their guns. They PoPo COMPLETELY UNLOAD THEIR WEAPONS by pulling the trigger until the gun stops going BANG!

6) PoPo hit the perp ONLY TWICE, sending the remaining hail of 28 rounds down the street, KILLING ONE INNOCENT BYSTANDER and sending another NINE INNOCENT BYSTANDERS to the hospital.

So where is the media? Where is the outrages? Where is that retard Bloomberg? Why isn’t he out there telling us that ONLY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS can have da’ gunz?

And now there’s some NY Times idiot claiming that the reason the NY PoPo killed an innocent and sent nine other innocents to the hospital IS BECAUSE NOBODY IS LISTENING TO MAYOR BLOOMIE, and there are too many guns on the streets. See, in this numbnuts world, if guns were completely and utterly banned, the cops wouldn’t have had to use *their* guns, and the one dead innocent would still be alive, and the other nine wouldn’t be in the hospital with bullet wounds.

What a moron.

And now, predictably, Sen. Frank Loutenberg is planning on introducing legislation geared toward banning *High Capacity Magazines*. Dancing in the blood of those who died in Aurora, gleeful that there was yet another event with which to push his statist agenda.

Problem with his argument is that the *high capacity magazine* jammed, and the rifle stopped functioning.

So how, you ask, did this guy wound 71, and kill 12, if he didn’t have use of his *high capacity magazine*? Simple…he had the laws of physics on his side…point-blank range, people packed close together. Take one shot, that bullet will travel through at least two people, and lodge itself in a third.

Plus, his first firearm was a Remington shotgun….one pull of the trigger, and about 12 to 14 lead pellets spray out the end. The Remington holds 7 rounds in the tube, and one in the chamber, for a total of 8 shots, each shot containing 12 to 14 lead balls. You do the math, and figure out how many folk were hit if even only half those lead balls found a target?

But the Liberal Blood Dance is to be expected…they can’t make their arguments on anything other than visceral emotional reaction in a knee-jerk fashion.

In 2006 Congress passed EPA Fuel Standards to include *cellulosic ethanol* in gasoline blends.

See, some real smart college scientists *predicted* that by 2012, this non-existent bio fuel would somehow exist if they convinced Congress that a THEORETICAL FUEL THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE IN 2006, would somehow magically be made if they forced the evil oil companies to make the stuff.

Fast forward to 2012 (the first year that this magical stuff was to be included in gasoline to the tune of 500 million raw cellulosic ethanol gallons to be blended with gas) and the stuff is still THEORETICAL.

But the EPA is levying fines anyway, because big oil has failed to meet the mandate. Quote of the day from a rep for oil companies:

“…”forcing us to use a product that doesn’t exist, they might as well tell us to use unicorns.”

Heh…unicorns. I wonder if he was thinking to use the whole unicorn, or just unicorn farts.

The New York Post has this story, but in a nutshell it comes down to Nanny-State mentality and stupid laws that don’t stop or deter crime. A store owner in NY was fined $50,000 for selling a kids toy Cowboy set, which included a plastic six-shooter (with Federally mandated orange tip on the barrel), plastic handcuffs, etc.

Problem is that NY thinks its too *realistic* looking, and therefore illegal in NY. The comment by the Consumer Affairs spokesperson was this:

But a Consumer Affairs spokeswoman countered, “Realistic-looking imitation guns are illegal and dangerous, and just last week, a 15-year-old in Texas was killed while holding one of these guns.”

Toy guns are dangerous? This one doesn’t *shoot* anything out of the barrel.

And no, you twit, a 15 year old in Texas wasn’t killed while *holding* a toy gun…he was holding a pellet gun, he had removed the Federally mandated orange tip, and he was pointing the thing at police officers! The officers told him to drop what was in his hands, and the kid LIFTED THE PELLET GUN AND POINTED IT AT THEM!

This isn’t a problem with the toy gun causing police shootings! Its idiot kids getting shot because they are STUPID!

So, when we moved down, I went to register and title the vehicles. Figured that the titles would take the same amount of time as in NY, roughly 6 to 8 weeks.

Nope. Took all of 6 DAYS…

Business certificates? A week and a half, and everything was in my hands, mailed immediately from the state.

Applied for my carry permit three weeks ago. Came in the mail today.

ONLY THREE WEEKS….in NY it took over 5 MONTHS, and at that it was only the wait time for the interview with the judge to see if I was of *good morale character* enough to be trusted with a handgun. The license took another 3 weeks after the interview.

I love living in Tennessee….they treat you like an adult, as opposed to the nanny state of NY that treats you like an annoyance that they have no choice but to deal with because the law says they *have* to go through the motions of abiding the law regardless of if they actually give you permission to have a gun or not. 

OK…listening to the testimony today in the House Judiciary committee, which is *supposed to* be questioning the scumbag Eric Holder on FAST AND FURIOUS, are asking what he’s doing to prosecute Medicare fraud, Chinese knock-off products of intellectual property, etc…

Your Congresscritters at work trying to deflect the issue and wase taxpayer time ad money.

…then we’re truly screwed as a democratic society bound by law.

The perp (yes, he’s a perp because he was caught on video making the threats) is one Nkrumah Tinsley. He’s being held in the pokey unless he can come up with $25,000 bail.

Now, this putz threatened to burn NY to the ground, and that he would Molotov Cocktail the Macy’s building.

If a Tea Party attendee had made such a threat, there would have been a congressional investigation, SWAT teams would have been called up from the city and surrounding States, a manhunt initiated, and he would have been found guilty of numrous crimes via the Court of Public Opinion, and probably drawn and quartered.

But since this stupid loudmouthed f*ck is one of OBambi’s supporters and key voting bloc, he lawyers up and is now claiming that it was just hyperbole, and he was just blowing off steam.

You know…a Supreme Court decision a long time ago determined that there was a limit to what constituted *free speech*. The best example is that if you yell *fire* in a crowded moviehouse where there is no fire, you have no free speech protection. By the same token, threatening to burn a building, and a whole city, to the ground is making a threat against the local government, and threatening the public at large.

If he doesn’t do serious jail time, then I admit we’re screwed as a society.

Damn…if a Tea Partier had been yelling about how we need to run the Jews out of the country, it would have made the news and been on top of the news cycle for months….

From the currently worst President ever to hold office, who proclaimed that his administration would be *the most transparent administration ever*, we have this story…

The headline reads:
Justice Department Proposes Letting Government Deny Existence of Sensitive Documents

Got that? The Justice Department is proposing that if the bureaucracy feels that certain information is too sensitive to be revealed in a FOIA request, they can simply tell you that the information you are looking for doesn’t exist.

And lets not kid ourselves…this is in direct response to the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal, that has now become obvious that it goes all the way up to the POTUS, and the response by DoJ to cover it up.

Massively cover it up.

This is High Crimes and Misdemeanors territory, folks. Impeachable offenses. And no, I’m not one of the tin-foil wearing nutjobs that stands on the corner screeching about Birth Certificates and how we need to impeach him NOW!!!!!!!

I was content to chalk up the massive mistake my fellow American Citizens made in the last election to their sheer stupidity, lack of understanding what was at stake, and their desire to be able to tell their kids that they were *a part of history when they voted for the first black president*. (I have an uber-liberal cousin who, when she could not defend her choice for Obama based on merit or anything he did in the past that would point to his being a capable president, said EXACTLY THAT…she wanted to be able to tell her grandkids that she was part of history…she’s an idiot.)

But at this juncture, I cannot stand idly by and try to stay above the fray…our country is descending into a socialist/marxist state…the TSA starting to occupy truck weigh stations, proposing the occupation of malls, occupying airports, all in the name of *public security*? And now the DoJ wants to be able to outright lie and hide what someone determines to be a *sensitive document*?

This is a VERY slippery slope, and I fear that we’ve slid too far down that we’re at the point of having too much momentum to stop and crawl back up the hill to safety. Oleg talks about it here.

Time to start stocking up on ammo, my friends…the tipping point, I fear, is getting real close.
